Why?

( That sharpness disappears, replaced by something more neutral. She's never had reason to believe that the kind of ability Carlisle displays is inherently bad, has known people with abilities like it and considers them among her closest friends.

And what she knows of Carlisle, she believes in him well enough to think that he wouldn't intentionally do so without reason. That accident and intent are different enough to make the situation change drastically. )

[Carlisle, on the other hand, can't hardly consider his abilities anything but evil, considering what he's been told all his life and the reputation the twice-cursed have. Anyone who has such abilities might not be vile, but a person who would use them willinging surely is.]

It was when the fog came to the city. He took me to one of the temples and tried to get me to stay there. I- I couldn't. I can't stay in one of the homes of the false gods.

[He sighs, his breath shaky.]

Okay, she does catch herself before finishing that mildly incredulous sounding outburst. Hell, she's pretty sure most people have forgiven, or at least forgotten to be pissed off at her, Sharon and Bianca after what they pulled. )

You fucked up and he destroyed your garden? ( Just checking that she's getting this right. And now Carlisle wants to tell Glacius but feels that he can't.

She inhales deeply. )

Tell Glacius what you told me. You don't want owt done 'cause he's a friend. Might upset him but he's not th' kind of person to ignore your wishes. More upset to find out some other way.

[He sighs. He knows that's what he should do, but it's so much harder to actually go through with it than it is to talk about it, especially when Carlisle still thinks of himself as having been completely in the wrong, as having been the first to betray Shadow's friendship.

Not that they were exactly friends at the time, but he had certainly considered them as much later. Nowadays, he's not so sure.]

You're right. I will do that... at some point.

[Hopefully soonish, but that's a bit optimistic.]
