( Not fair, Ignis. The noises she makes mingle somewhere between moans and gasps as his nails dig into her thigh and Kate's arm wraps around his shoulders, the heat of bodies pressed against one another burning into her skin with each achingly slow movement. Fingernails drag across flesh and muscle, from shoulder to arm and across his back as soft whispers of encouragement are breathed against his lips between kisses.
Stumbling back into this city had been an unpleasant, confusing mass of repressed memories held under a need for routine and the stark knowledge that there was no time to dwell on it, that this city wouldn't give her the proper time to. But stumbling back into this city meant stumbling into him and into this, into something which could so easily have been ignored and left unspoken for the sake of safety and the status quo.
She's glad it wasn't. Even as her heart skips a beat and sticks in her throat, eyes locked on his as their foreheads press together, she's honestly glad for these weeks and months like this, for getting a second chance at something she wrote off as pointless. Her legs twitch around him, gently urging him on, noses brushing together before she catches him with another kiss. )
[Things are usually quicker between them. Hurried, heated touches and presses of lips to skin, the sharp nip of teeth leaving small bruises like signatures. Here, though, the soft whispers are acknowledged with little more than another kiss, the tripping of fingertips over warm curves, a closing of the distance left between them by another millimetre - that fraction more to bring them closer together.
All that he can think in times like these is that he must have done something very right, somewhere along the line, to have been granted this. Even in such a place as Hadriel.
He kisses her, cues easily taken from the shift of her legs and the tension in her body as he quickens his movement. Heat curls in the pit of his stomach with the subtlest of trembling across his thighs, lips pressing to her neck as a low sound rises in the back of his throat.]
( Each noise something which sinks into her skin, felt rather than heard, humming along nerves like the ceaselessly exploring fingers which brush along her side. Dragging nails down soft skin; a languid dance made of gentle touches across his side and up hipbones, steps slow over a stage of muscle and old scars until her hand comes to rest on his chest. Still fingers and light gasps, eyelids slipping closed, an all but wordless surrender punctuated by lips that blindly find his and the arching of her back lifting hips from the bed.
There's no world outside any more, no thought in her mind which doesn't trail back to the weight of his body above hers, the thunder of her heart in her chest and throat and the drumming of his under her hand against his chest. Fingers clutch tightly at the hand in hers, lips brushing between jaw and ear. )
Not yet.
( Words gasped out before her head rolls back against the pillow with a moan. )
[Her words draw a soft hiss of breath from him, and a careful change of position as he tries to re-measure his pace.]
I'll do my best... [Ignis murmurs to her with a hint of humour, kissing the top of her cheekbone, just in front of her ear. He releases her hand though only to urge her arm up around him, his fingers curling around the back of her shoulder instead as he pulls her as close as he can get her without stopping.
His lips meet her neck, her jaw, and then her mouth again, capturing that heat between them and holding it there. Not yet, she said, but he knows he won't be able to hold to that for very long.]
( It's easy enough for Ignis to shift her, fingers firm against his back as they find a place to rest, to hold him steady in her arms, hot, wordless noise escaping her with the shift in position. Legs relax and feet find purchase on the mattress, enough to provide leverage and movement when she's pulled all but flush against him.
With their lips locked and every part of her body electric, Kate knows it won't be much longer, but still--
She wants more. He's very good at making her want more. )
[How far they've come now, from those first careful touches, from the surprised flinch the first time she kissed him, from his private wondering of just how and why until such questions had ceased to matter. He fell for her utterly before he even realised it, and he's more a fool for her than he'd ever willingly admit to anyone.
There's always time for more. It's easy to convince themselves of that in moments like this when it seems that there would never be anything but time.
It's a handful of minutes that stretch out into eternity before he pulls her tight against him, his entire frame shaking with everything he had been trying so hard to hold back.]
( at first, all that time ago, Hadriel had seemed like somewhere that denied its residents any chance at happiness. Hope would dangle something good in front of your nose that couldn't be, and Delight would provide a temporary plaster over the pains caused by living in the city, by gods like Fear and Rage, but true happiness seemed to be far from the city's offerings. But she'd been wrong about all of it, and somewhere through the chaos the city had brought together people who would have never met otherwise. Provided the time to think about more than work, and things... fell into place. Ignis - beautiful, intelligent, funny and sweet Ignis - found a way into her heart where the only thing that could be done was to follow it.
The push from Love-charged water just made it happen a little faster than it might have otherwise. She doesn't know, and by now, it's useless to care about the what ifs of things past.
She worries about the what ifs the future might hold, the parts of Hadriel which made it so easy to believe that the city didn't want its prisoners to be happy, but those worries melt away under touches of fingers, lips and teeth and the shuddering of her thighs when he presses into her just right, waiting for another day, another time. For now, all there is, is the wordless quiet gasp she breathes against his ear and the softness of his hair as her hand curls into it. The thudding of her heart as she catches her breath after it's done and the weakness of her legs, loose and all too light in the aftermath.
Her hand finds enough strength to hold him in place by his hair and press a messy, hard kiss against his lips. All the things she couldn't say better expressed like this for now. )
[A hand at her thigh holds her leg up around him for one more breathless, trembling moment when she captures his lips in that fierce kiss. He digs his nails lightly against her skin and plants another, softer kiss to her mouth when she releases him, followed by another.
Ignis kisses her jaw, the curve of her throat, then - so softly - the top of her collarbone before he finally shifts away from her. But not too far. He never goes far, always letting her make the first move to leave and clean up if she feels the need to. Exertion has left him slightly flushed, and the movements of her fingers easily took his hair down from its usual style to leave it falling loose over his forehead.
He loves her. There's no other word for it but love, and he smiles to himself as he kisses her lightly once again.]
( Despite the thin film of sweat that coats her skin, sticking hair to her face and arms, Kate doesn't make the slightest movement to clean up, not yet. Not when bliss still lingers and she can't wipe the traces of a smile from her lips.
She isn't unhappy back home, there's friends and a reason to wake up in the morning, things to do and the promise that home will be better now that some form of peace has been declared, but it's been a long time since Kate can remember feeling this... content. Where the curve of her lips is automatic and impossible to stop and the idea of lazing about in bed sounds more appealing than doing much of anything. )
You staying?
( Here, with her, or does he need to make his way back to his own place for the night? )
[He had no immediate thoughts on leaving, one way or another. How could he even think of it, when warm satisfaction is sinking into every muscle and he can't help but feel so very much like he belongs right where he is?
It isn't a question, and he requires no answer as he finds one of her hands, taking it in his and lifting it to his lips.]

( They can spend some time like this for now, her hand slipping out of his grasp and finding the side of his face, curling around his jaw lightly.
Soon enough she'll move to shower, but for now she's content, warm feelings fluttering indescribably through her chest. )
